Sony’s BURANO is a compact addition to the CineAlta lineup, offering an 8.6K full-frame sensor that matches the VENICE 2’s color science. Designed for single operators and small crews, it features in-body image stabilization (IBIS) compatible with PL and E-mount lenses—the first of its kind.
The camera supports Fast Hybrid Autofocus and Subject Recognition AF, enhancing its versatility for various shooting scenarios. Its lightweight, rugged magnesium chassis ensures durability and mobility, making it suitable for diverse filming environments.
BURANO offers multiple recording formats, including X-OCN LT for 16-bit RAW and various XAVC codecs, accommodating a range of production needs. Its electronic variable ND filter (0.6 to 2.1) allows precise exposure control without affecting depth of field.
This camera bridges the gap between the FX9 and VENICE 2, providing high-end features in a more accessible form factor, ideal for both scripted and unscripted projects.
